Project: Constellation Crew Launch Vehicle Mobile Launcher

Contract Complete: May 2008 – December 2010
Description: Detail, fabricate, coat and erect over 1700 tons of structural steel comprising the base of the new Constellation Ares I Mobile Launcher to demanding tolerances on an aggressive schedule.

Project: Replace and Upgrade VAB Siding

Customer: NASA – John F. Kennedy Space Center
Contract Complete: September 2005 to April 2010
Description: Renovate 635,000 sf of aluminum siding by recoating and replacing all fasteners. Remove and replace approximately 100,000 sf of siding after lead abating and recoating of the substrate. Remove, lead abate, coat, rework mechanical components, replace siding and reinstall a total of 23 vehicle access doors ranging in size up to 40’ x 112’ and weighing up to 160,000 pounds each. Replace 67,000 sf of translucent, sandwich panel skylights.

Project: Refurbish VAB Doors and Openings

Customer: United Space Alliance (Prime Contractor to NASA)
Contract Complete: 2006-2009
Description: This project involved renovating the vehicle access doors in the Vertical Assembly Building in two High Bays, the South Transfer Aisle Door and the North Transfer Aisle Door. More specifically, the scope was to remove, lead abate, coat, rework mechanical components, replace siding and reinstall a total of 24 vehicle access doors ranging in size up to 40’ x 112’ and weighing up to 160,000 pounds each.

Project: Construct New Space Launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral Air Station

Customer: Raytheon/Boeing
Contract Complete: 1998-2002
Description: Construction of a new Mobile Service Tower and Fixed Umbilical Tower for the Boeing Company’s Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle. Project was constructed as a fast track project while launch vehicle was under design. Work includes structural steel (approximately 3950 tons), composite metal siding with flashings, large vehicle access doors, fireproofing and coatings.
